Los Angeles, CA - Jurassic World: Dominion has stars new and old as Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum are back for more dinosaur mayhem. The long-awaited first trailer for Jurassic World: Dominion has arrived, and it is packed with equal parts dino action and nostalgia. The first look features everything fans would expect from a Jurassic World movie: dinosaurs running wild, Chris Pratt on a motorcycle chasing down those dinosaurs plus several call backs to previous films, including the original's cast of Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum. In the trailer, there are dinosaurs wandering free in a wintery tundra and swimming in the ocean as humans look on warily. “Human and dinosaurs can’t coexist. We created an ecological disaster,” Laura Dern’s Dr Ellie Sattler says in the trailer, which is a keen observation that should have been apparent five movies ago.“We not only lack dominion over nature, we’re subordinate to it,” says Goldblum’s Dr Ian Malcolm. That's all good news for Universal and theaters because the Jurassic Park franchise has been big business for both for nearly 30 years. Cast members of the original “Jurassic Park” series will also return in the film, so the nostalgia of seeing the legacy cast from the original film together again on the big screen should draw in the old fans of the series who may be itching to see favorite characters Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill), Dr Sattler and Dr Malcolm (Goldblum) try not to get eaten. The film, from Universal and director Colin Trevorrow, is the third film in the Jurassic World franchise that began in 2015. Dominion includes mainstays Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard and also brings back the stars of the original Jurassic Park adaptation of Michael Crichton’s novel that first introduced the world to a park in which dinosaurs run amok. In November 2021, Universal unveiled the first five minutes of the film, which depicts how one misquito’s actions millions of years earlier led to dinosaur resurrection in the modern day. Dominion deals with the fallout from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018), which showed the destruction of the dinosaurs’ home, Isla Nublar, and dinosaurs escaping into the modern world. The series - which launched with Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park - has hauled in more than $5 billion worldwide since its 1993 debut. Dominion, which rebooted the franchise in 2015, will be the sixth installment overall.
